"Just for today, I will give thanks for my many blessings.
Just for today, I will not worry.
Just for today, I will not be angry.
Just for today, I will do my work honestly.
Just for today, I will be kind to my neighbor and every living thing."

The REIKI Principles

'Rei" means 'Spirit' or 'Soul' and conveys awareness of and working within spiritual consciousness. "Ki" means 'energy' and also the 'atmosphere' which pervades and surrounds. Reiki, like Bach Flowers and Jin Shin Jyutsu Physio-Philosophy, is another rediscovered energy medicine.

In 1915, Dr. Mikao Usui of Japan was attending a twenty one day training at a Buddhist Temple near Mt. Kurama. During this training it is said that the "great Reiki energy entered his crown charka" which greatly enhanced his healing abilities. After working with this method on the poor of Kyoto for seven years, he moved to Tokyo in 1922 and started a healing society where offered Reiki sessions and taught this method to others.

Reiki incorporates the use of symbols which are drawn with the hands and also verbally invoked. Reiki can be performed on the body or from a distance (sometimes called "absentee" or "distance healing.") It can be used on physical complaints and also for situations. Click here to request a distance Reiki healing. You will be asked to fill in your name and the reason you are requesting a Reiki distance healing. Reiki will be sent for three consecutive days.

There are three levels of training and then another level of training to become a teacher. The 'energy' of Reiki is transmitted to the student by a teacher in what should be an unbroken lineage from Dr. Usui. To learn more about Reiki, explore the following link: www.reiki.org
